Three trackers are now available for Sunday.  We reported that Rasmussen still has Obama up one.

Now Hotline also has Obama one up.

And Gallup, which had Obama leading by six yesterday, has him leading by four today.

We can cautiously observe that Senator McCain may have stopped the slippage of the past week.  We'll see.  Stopping slippage is one thing, leading again is quite another.  As long as the economic hurricane is on page one, it's not helpful to McCain.

Some have raised questions about the timing of the economic catastrophes of the last week.  There have been suggestions of economic terrorism.  I have absolutely no inside information on that, but I do hope there is a complete investigation, by regulatory agencies, Congress, and those few elements in the media who can take on such a probe and do it well, especially The Wall Street Journal.  Without a body of facts, we should hold off on the conspiracy theories.
